#12 for 2011 -- Focus

Yes, back to triangles.

More symmetrical this time, and nice bright, clear colors. Here are some closer looks.

All in all, very jolly!

2011 #11 Abalone

This one has a subtle beauty.

All right, maybe the flamingo isn't so subtle, but just look at the rest of it.

I'm sure you saw the sequins, but did you notice the beads?

They came attached to the yarn! I was worried they wouldn't be noticeable, but they add a nice touch.

2011 #10 No Name!

I sat down to make this post, and only then did I realize that I don't have a name for this one. It was all about color for me.

My favorite parts are the small lines of turquoise, which define the middle top, and then are repeated a couple of times in the body. It serves as what Kaffe Fassett calls the 'kick color.'

I added some colorful rings to the points, just for fun.

It turned out well, some intriguing color juxtapositions (thank you, Sandy!). It has everything but a name.

Time Passages

I've been busy, so neglectful. How neglectful?

Here is where I started, blocking scarves.

And here was the start of the shawl.

And then time passed, and here it is now.

They grow so fast.

By the way, when I put my last shawl on the couch on top of the previous one, this is what I got.

Wouldn't that make a nice color scheme for a new afghan!

2011 #9 V

Finally done and blocked!

I had my doubts, but it ended up very nice.

As usual, here are some closer looks.

And the next one is already started.....

Filling it in.

Here are some closer looks.

I also made a super-quick scarf, zig zag sideways with fun yarns. Here is the unblocked version -- I'll block it when I do this shawl.

Really V V

Second color layer done.

I'm liking it better.

Here's some closer looks.

Next row will be whites.

V V

Here's progress on the inner layer.

And here are some closer looks.

This is the end of the hot pink.

Here's the start of the green/blue.

And here's farther down.

Not sure of the joins between the colors. I may have to add something there later.

Scarf Distraction

I got seduced. These aren't blocked.

These are both from the same pattern, both snake scarves, both knit on size 15 needles.

The first one is made from a magic ball and a fuzzy yarn. Here's the difference between the two sides.

And here's the transition point.

The other one is from a carry-along yarn and a thin yarn with fuzzy bits.

Okay, time to go back to the main piece. But these were fun.
